We need you!

Harding is lucky to have an active parent community with volunteers staffing the library, working in the classrooms, chaperoning field trips, and much, much more.

Here's how you can volunteer:

IN THE CLASSROOM: Assist individual students or small groups with classroom activities. Help students create an arts or crafts project for our Fall Auction. Donate supplies.

AT HOME: Work with other volunteers to plan events, design flyers, send e-mail announcements about PTA activities, or write an article for the PTA newsletter.

IN THE LIBRARY: Sign up for a library shift. Re-shelve books and help our students find age-appropriate reading materials.

ROOM PARENT: Assist the teacher by planning classroom activities and parties.

YARD DUTY: Lunchtime supervision needed.

AT SCHOOL: Chaparone field trips, help plan a  PTA movie night, become a HASEP escort, or donate snacks for testing.

TRANSLATION: Translate written materials into Spanish.

DADS' CLUB: Participate in work parties to improve the school.

OTHER SKILLS NEEDED: Whatever else you have to offer!

Volunteering is Easy!

If you want to assist with take-home projects, contact your teacher directly.  No other process is necessary.

For parents who want to volunteer in the classroom or around school, there are a few more steps to ensure the safety of our children:

  1. Pick up your volunteer packet from the front office.  It will contain information about this process, a volunteer form, and the principal's letter.
  2. Take a TB Test. You can either use your doctor or a WCCUSD doctor -- tests cost $10.00.  The test needs to be checked 48 to 72 hours after being given so plan a little time for this step.
  3. Submit your information to the District office. You will need to bring the TB test results, your volunteer form, principal's letter, and picture ID.
These guidelines provide additional information for other types of volunteering.  Get started today -- stop by the office or call 231-1413 for your volunteer package.  Thank you for your interest!
